Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER)
The Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) place duties on people and businesses who own, operate or have control over lifting equipment. This includes all businesses and organisations whose employee’s use lifting equipment.
ENSURE THE ONGOING COMPLIANCE OF YOUR LIFTING EQUIPMENT WITH LOLER EXAMINATIONS
LOLER requires that lifting equipment is fit for purpose, individually marked (serial number) and subject to periodic thorough examination. These are often referred to as “LOLER Examination”. At Nexus Examination Ltd our team of Engineer Surveyors will work with you to help your business become and remain LOLER compliant.
The frequency of inspection depends on the purpose for which the equipment is used. Equipment used for lifting people will require an increased frequency of examination.
Below is a non-exhaustive list of equipment we inspect within LOLER:
- → Mobile Cranes
- → Overhead Travelling Cranes
- → Excavators
- → Telescopic Handlers
- → Forklifts
- → Vehicle Lifts
- → Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWP’s)
